He set his alarm for 11:59 P.M. and when it went off dialed her number.
“Hello?” a sleepy voice answered.
“Happy birthday,” he whispered. He could hear the smile in her voice as she answered.
“Thank you! Wow, what is it, exactly midnight?”
“Yup. Since I couldn’t be with you on your birthday, I figured I’d call right away.”
“I’m surprised you don’t have some big secret plan for me, being the big romantic that you are.”
He smiled into the phone as if she could hear or see it.
“Look on page 157 of the book I lent you. I love you. Good night.”
“Good night,” she said as she reached for the book.
For some weird reason, even though “he” defaced a page in a book, this seems to be something that is so much better compared to flowers , jewellery and all that other stuff. Nice 🙂
Did you find the picture or did you have to take the picture?
I made the photograph myself with an old book that had a moldy cover and was going to be thrown out anyway. I would NEVER deface a perfectly good book 🙂
Any chance you’ve got a single brother out there around the thirty-year mark? *sigh*
OMG if this happened to me I would most definitely C R Y ! ! ! !
Seriously, it’s not fair… I want to date all your characters.
Loved it. Made me want to be the girl who opened the book.
This is dangerous reading. I wonder how many women sent a link to their boyfriends to this article? 😉 I loved it!
I truly loved this entry.
And what you did with the book…

That is so sweet and the photo is awesome!!
